For Those Who Would Change the Wind

Abolitionist
1818 - 1895
"If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightning. Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will."

Excellent quote. I recently watched the movie "Amazing Grace" about the abolitionist movement in Britain. It paints a vivid picture of "the way things were" and the men and women who challenged the status quo. Change does require struggle, for some causes more than others.
