For Profit School Preying on the Homeless

Earlier this summer, CitySquare began a public awareness campaign to educate our neighbors, both adults wishing to gain career training and high school graduates, about the potential dangers of 'for profit' colleges and universities.

It's a problem in low income communities, where the desire to better one's life leave many prey to unscrupulous recruiters for whom prospective students represent easy dollars in terms of guaranteed federal student loans.

This report on a local Dallas news broadcast shows how deep the problem goes.

It's incredibly important that parents, our high schools, non-profits and adults who look to increase their employability, do he necessary due diligence before referring, or enrolling in one of these schools. Failure to do so may turn your dreams into a tragically disappointing nightmare!
