So What if He is a Citizen - What About THIS?!

It is true that so much of what we hear today that passes for serious political punditry is not only superficial, but borders on the idiotic.

Take, for instance, the latest controversy over the appearance of poet/rapper (or rapper/poet) Common at a poetry reading at the White House.

Now I want to be clear, I'm not really a fan of rap - at all. Nor am I necessarily a fan f Def Jam poetry. But of all the rapper/poets/poet rappers Common is among the least offensive if not THE least offensive of them all. In fact, he is one of the mainstream entertainers of that genre.

So, instead of real, substantive commentary about the deficit, or foreign policy, or education, or health care, or the upcoming presidential race, to name a few issues on which there is honest differences with President Obama, Fox News decides to highlight this...

and yes, leave it to Jon Stewart to show just how silly this is...

and hypocritical...

There has to be a reason for this big a reach, instead of really digging into the serious policy differences between conservatives and this administration...I wonder what it may be?
